Post-Race Highlights:

Daniel Suárez and the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS) returned to the track this weekend at Texas Motor Speedway (TMS) for the first of two stops during of the 2017 season at the newly-repaved 1.5-mile speedway. After earning the 20th starting position on Friday afternoon, Suárez and the STANLEY team took the green flag at 1:30 PM ET. After 334 laps were complete at the Ft. Worth, TX facility, Suárez crossed the finish line in the 19th position in the STANLEY Camry.

Following the drop of the green flag, Suárez suffered slight damage to the nose of his Stanley Camry after the field stacked up on the outside lane heading into turn one. Despite the damage, Suárez maintained his position and was scored in 20th when the first caution of the afternoon waved on lap three. During the caution, crew chief Scott Graves call the young rookie down pit road to repair the nose on his STANLEY Camry. Following the stop, Suárez restarted in 39th on lap five. Despite the setback, Suárez continued to battle and was scored in 29th when the competition caution waved on lap 30th. With the caution flag displayed, the STANLEY team was able to return to pit road for two tires, fuel and a round of adjustments to the STANLEY Camry. With the two tire strategy working, Suárez restarted in 20th on lap 36. Battling the handling on his STANLEY Camry, Suárez fell back to 25th by lap 62 and maintained his position when the third caution flag of the afternoon waved on lap 85, signaling the end of segment one. Under the scheduled caution period, Suárez and the STANLEY team hit pit road once again for four tires, fuel and another round adjustment. Following the stop, Suárez restarted in 26th on lap 92.

Despite fighting the handling on his STANLEY Camry, Suárez continued to battle and worked his way up to 25th when the sixth caution of the afternoon waved on lap 164 for debris. During the caution, Graves once again called Suárez down pit road for four tires, fuel and another round of adjustments to help with the handling on the STANELY Camry. Following a lightning-quick stop by STANLEY team, Suárez restarted in 21st on lap 167. With three laps to go until the end of stage two, Suárez took care of his equipment and was scored in 22nd on lap 170, the end of stage two. Electing to stay out under the caution, Suárez and his STANLEY team restarted in 14th on lap 177, the start of the final stage.

With his STANLEY Camry working well on the short run, Suárez cracked the top-10 on lap 180 and would be scored in 11th when he made his first green-flag pit stop of the afternoon on lap 221. During the stop, the STANLEY team took four tires, fuel and made another round of adjustments to the STANLEY Camry. Once pit stops cycled through, Suárez was scored in 15th on lap 230. Despite battling a loose Toyota Camry for the closing 104 laps of the race, Suárez continued to battle and crossed the finish line in 19th in his STANLEY Camry.

The MENCS will be off next week for the Easter Holiday, and return to the track in two weeks at Bristol Motor Speedway for the Food City 500. Coverage of the race begins on Sunday, April 23rd at 1:30 PM ET live on Fox.
